BrazilFoundation's VII Annual Gala gathered 440 friends, honors and supporters at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York to celebrate the Foundation's accomplishments and to raise funds for social projects in Brazil to be selected in 2010. We are pleased that even during these difficult economic times, the BrazilFoundation was able to raise even more than last year's event.
The event celebrated the City of Rio de Janeiro and brought guests to their feet with the rhythm of Frederick Douglass Academy's Harlem Samba and Silvia Machete's irreverent and creative performance. The evening heated up with DJ Johnny Stuart followed by DJ Zé Pedro.
Four social investors from Brazil were honored this year: Alberto Weisser, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bunge Limited, Cosette Alves, President of the Inter-American Culture and Development Foundation (ICDF), Oskar Metsavaht, owner of Osklen and founder of the NGO Instituto, and Otaviano Canuto, Vice President of the World Bank and Head of the Poverty Reduction and Economic Management (PREM) Network.
Sponsors of the VII Annual Gala: Atlas Advisors, Bunge Limited, City of Rio de Janeiro, Deutsche Bank, FIRJAN, TAM Airlines, Bloomberg, Pfizer, Sérgio and Malu Millerman, Banco Safra, Alan Rose, The Tinker Foundation, Violy & Company.
BrazilFoundation would like to thank the photographers Rebeca Axelrud Galbinski and Bryant Carmona for donating their services in support of the Annual Gala.
